Gujarat: Mentally unstable man gives untimely azan at Bhuj Mosque, Arrested. – OpIndia uses the incident to spread Islamophobia

Kutch: A 40 year old mentally unsound man has been arrested in Bhuj town for allegedly ‘creating enmity between different communities

Sub Inspector KM Agravat of Bhuj A Division police station said As per the preliminary probe, the man appeared to be mentally unsound, did not have any objective in mind when he made inflammatory remarks from the mosque’s loudspeaker.

The accused lives in Sanjognagar and never prayed at this mosque in Bakali Colony, the inspector said as reported by News 18.

“Accused does not appear to be mentally sound. He found the keys from a shelf near the main gate of the mosque and entered. Around 2.20 am he gave Azaan using loudspeaker despite knowing it is not the time for prayer. He also announced he was the ‘king of Kutch’ and asked community members to wake up and come out of their houses with weapons,” said Agravat.

Meanwhile, OpIndia a right wing news portal well known for spreading hatred deliberately hid the police report in its article which said that the accused was mentally unstable.

In the article, it highlighted as the call was given from the mosque authorities. The accused has never prayed at the mosque and was mentally unstable according to the police report.
