Tweets by parody accounts of many prominent world leaders are viral on Twitter and Facebook where they are seen extending support to India on behalf of their country as the recent Indo-China Faceoff has escalated tensions between the two nations.
Tweets from parody accounts of Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, Ivanka Trump and Shinzo Abe are viral saying they “stand with India.” The screenshot of the Tweets are viral in Facebook, Whatsapp and other social media.
Not only commoners, but many journalists and BJP leaders have fallen to the tweets by retweeting and commenting on these tweets by parody accounts.
Senior journalist and India Today Editor Geeta Mohan tweeted the fake tweet from the parody account of Donald Trump and later deleted it.
Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale National Executive, Bharatiya Janata Party also retweeted it and later when pointed out by NDTV journalist Nidhi Razdan deleted the tweet.
National In-charge of Social Media – BJP Mahila Morcha Priti Gandhi has also fallen prey to it and retweeted later with comment. Mohammed Zubair co-founder of a fact-checking website, Alt News, pointed it out.
Tweets from a parody account of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Trump daughter Ivanka Trump have attracted hundreds of retweets and likes.
