Bhutan issued a clarification, stating that the media reports alleging that they (Bhutan) have stopped the supply of irrigation water to areas in Assam “are totally baseless” & “deliberate attempt by vested interests to cause misunderstanding between friendly people of Bhutan & Assam.”
The actual reason for stopping the flow of water is being the natural blockages due to heavy monsoon and Bhutan is helping to clear the blockage and clear the passage.
